Jeremy Pape: I LOST MY FUCKIN FRIEND. i dont cry. i get very mad. marcus knows that, thats why he always told me to take time for myself. he would call me every day and say “J did you have some time for yourself, i don’t want you burning out”. EVERY day Marcus took care of the DOPE GAME family. when we lost him everyone was over at my house just crying, i was in the backyard breaking stuff. i just looked up and told marcus that i missed him so much already and i felt him look down and say “yo J im right here dude”, i just didn’t seem him. Marcus is the behind the scenes guy, he made us great and 90% of our fans prolly didn’t even know him as well as they should. so now every day that im home i take time for myself. i head out to the backyard. i look up at that tree where the sun shines through and i just hang out with marcus. he teaches me still. he is really proud of us right now, but he said he still needs his desk. that was all he wanted a dope desk with his name on it. thats why im doing any of this. i just wanna get marcus the desk.
I REALLY FUCKIN LOVE YOU, see you in a bit. ill text ya when i get the desk.

QKnox: So, to be honest … I don’t quite remember what gig that is. I do remember it was at the Larimer Lounge … and my hair was long so it has to be toward the end of last summer. I think it was a BigWheel and Whygee gig … I want to say it was something with GirlGrabbers and 1984 (that was usually the lineup when we rocked gigs at the Larimer Lounge.) I do remember that I had to have a big table because in addition to being able to hold my keyboard and controller, the screen on my laptop was broken so it also had to hold a 22” monitor I carried with me. It couldn’t be on the same table with GypDaHip’s gear because his jumping around would shake the table and it we were afraid it would fall over. Lol. This also may have been my first solo Welcome To T.he D.O.P.E. game photo. But only Pape would know that.

Tahnja Fernandez: I believe this picture was taken at J’s house. On his couch during the shooting of one of his videos. Its dope cause my lips are the only shield from the power of my words. They can be good or bad words but they are my power.

Sid Madrid: The day officially began after the first tallie shore (tall can of PBR) was consumed sometime in the afternoon. Turner and I were bouncing around everywhere in the city grid: Cap Hill, SOBO, The Points, Downtown, Uptown and damn near everything in between. Welcome To The D.O.P.E. Game was opening for Hopsin, and Turner was getting out the last batch of tickets to the show. It was one of those days where things were going wrong at every turn, but Turner and I kept it movin, kept piffin, and got to the venue on time and looking fresh, despite spending the day sweating in the hot sun. I remember chillin stage left and burning down, watching Turner, Marcus, Dozen and the entire D.O.P.E. Game fam wreck the set. I stepped on stage to perform “Malt Liquor” but my mic was hot. It was feeding back real tough, and I had to hold it with one finger on my nose. What you see in this photo is not just Sid, rather, it is also Jeremy Pape at his finest and most stealth, because I didn’t even see the flash when he slid on stage and snapped this gem. It reminds me of one of those National Geographic photos where a rare nocturnal animal is photographed in their natural habitat mid strike. Pape has that natural ability to capture what is really inside his subjects and bring it out through his lens. This photo is no exception.

Derek Reinhardt: It was at the Rex Lounge before we went in for Turners show. I loved The Rex. A ton of very fond and somewhat blurry moments in that place. I believe this was the night we took these crazy infused shots that Jeremy hated haha. I guess if the fondest memory from this photo is all the awesome times we had at The Rex.

Myke Charles; What can I say? Welcome to the D.O.P.E. Game. This is a photograph from a video shoot I did with Mr. Pape. It was taken in the heart of the city, right off of Speer. It was crazy because I had to climb the beams of this bridge that runs over Cherry Creek and it was pretty slippery and what not. You could hear my manager in the background like, “Hey! Hey! Don’t fall son!” It was fun though. Pape is great to work with; Very positive. We don’t shake hands we hug. He asked me what the favorite part of my week was. I feel like he captured both of our fresh in this photo. That flight plan, I’m about to lift off swag. I love working with good people in my city. Look out for the next round.

Ru Johnson: I remember the sun shining so bright the day Pape picked me up for this shoot. Scott Colby was with him and we walked down the block for smoking utensils, me, feeling awkward in a party dress at 3pm on a random weekday.
By happenstance we met up with H*Wood and Kid Vegas, whose photos came out dope this days as well. I didn’t know what Pape was going for, what the hell I was supposed to do, or how the pics would come out. We took a bunch of flicks but, this one was the money shot. It is one of my favorite descriptions of me through image. Stoic and glamorous.
Viva la Pape.
